Fried bread dumplings with mushroom cream

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 large bread dumplings, or 3
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 250 g mushrooms, brown
  • 100 ml cream
  • 100 ml water or broth
  • some cornstarch to bind
  • Herbs
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Slice the bread dumplings. Fry on both sides in 1 tablespoon of oil. Peel and dice the onion. Fry the onion in 1 tablespoon of oil. Slice the mushrooms and add them. Fry briefly, then add the cream and water/stock. Simmer for 8 minutes, then thicken with starch dissolved in water and simmer for another 2 minutes. Season with herbs, salt, and pepper. Serve the sauce with the fried bread dumplings. Serve with a salad, for example.
