Fried zucchini dumplings with dip

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g zucchini
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 280 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp cumin, ground
  • some salt
  • ½ lemon(s), untreated, peel
  • 160 ml mineral water, ice cold
  • 200 g crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp Miracle Whip
  • salt and pepper
  • n. B. herbs
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • some cayenne pepper
  • Fat, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Coarsely grate the zucchini and finely chop the onion. For the batter, combine the flour with the baking powder, sesame seeds, cumin, salt, and lemon zest. Mix this flour mixture with the cold mineral water, then stir in the grated zucchini and diced onion. Preheat the deep fryer. Use 2 tablespoons to scoop out dumplings and place them in the hot oil. Fry for about 5 minutes, until the dumplings are nicely browned. Drain on kitchen paper and keep warm in a preheated oven (50°C) until all the dumplings are ready. For the dip, combine the crème fraîche with the Miracle Whip. Season to taste with salt, pepper, finely chopped garlic, cayenne pepper, and herbs. Serve the dumplings with the dip. Serve with a green salad.
