Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 g wheat flour
- 1 pack of yeast
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 eggs
- 125 g butter, soft
- 125 ml milk, lukewarm
- 100 g sunflower seeds
- 200 g apricot(s), dried, chopped
- 100 g sunflower seeds
- 3 tbsp honey
- 4 tbsp whipped cream
- 75 g butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
Yeast dough with sunflower seeds and dried apricots
Prepare the yeast dough using the ingredients listed above. Let it rise for 15 minutes, then mix in the sunflower seeds and apricots and let it rise again in a warm place for 20 minutes. Set aside about 50g of the dough, shape the remainder into three equal strands (about 50-70cm). Braid it and place it on a baking sheet as a wreath. Shape the previously set aside dough scrap into a bow and place it on the connecting piece. Bake at 160-170°C (220-230°F) for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, bring the glaze ingredients to a boil in a saucepan until the mixture is light brown. Spread it over the wreath. Bake for another 10 minutes. Once cooled, decorate the nest with colorful eggs or sweets in the center.
