Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 125 g margarine
  • 2 tbsp, levelled sugar
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 6 m.-sized eggs
  • 500 g flour
  • 250 g raisins
  • vegetable fat
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Take 3 tablespoons of the 4 cups of milk. Warm it gently and dissolve 1 cube of yeast in it. Bring the remaining milk to a boil with a pinch of salt and 1 cup of semolina. Remove from the heat and stir in 125g margarine and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Gradually beat 6 eggs into the semolina mixture. Stir in the dissolved yeast, a little lemon juice and 500g flour and beat vigorously. Finally, fold in 250g raisins. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place, then beat vigorously again. Heat the fat in a deep fryer or a large saucepan. Using 2 tablespoons of the dough, form balls and fry them in the hot fat. Roll the balls in sugar (or cinnamon if desired).
