- 1 kg carrot(s)
- 400 ml mayonnaise
- 2 bulb(s) garlic, Chinese
- some salt
- some pepper
- 1 pack of toast bread

Peel the carrots and then grate them with a fine grater. Then add the mayonnaise and mix everything well. Now season the carrots with a little pepper and salt, depending on your taste. Mix well again. Now press the garlic. It needs to be really fine so that the flavor can develop properly. It is best to use Chinese garlic. This consists of one large clove. Plus, the next day you don’t smell as much garlic as you would with regular garlic. With the Chinese garlic you use about 2-2.5 bulbs. If you only have the normal, divided bulbs, then use about 3-4 cloves, depending on how big the cloves are. That may sound like a lot, but it’s all right, and please don’t skimp on it, that’s the typical flavor of the salad! Now mix everything well. It’s best to let it stand for about 10 minutes so that the garlic can develop. Meanwhile, toast a few slices of toast. If you just want to eat it for lunch or something, then that’s it. But if you want to serve it for a celebration or party, it’s best if you quarter the slices. Then use a fork to spread some of the salad on the toast. It’s best to taste how much you want on each slice of toast. Then serve the finished slices nicely on a platter or plate. We always served this at birthdays, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. It was always eaten up immediately, and I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like it.
