Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 350 g flour
  • 150 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 1 cube of yeast, fresh
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 150 g butter, liquid
  • 200 g granulated sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Liège waffles with the inimitable caramelized sugar

Dissolve the yeast and vanilla sugar in the lukewarm milk. Combine the flour, eggs, and salt, then add the yeast milk, stirring constantly, and mix to form a dough. Then knead the very soft butter into the dough. Let it rise in a warm place for 45 minutes. Finally, fold in the sugar. Bake each waffle for 3 minutes in a Liège waffle iron at maximum temperature.
