Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g beef goulash, good quality
  • some sunflower oil
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tsp mustard, medium hot
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 25 ml red wine, dry
  • 500 ml beef broth
  • 100 ml beer
  • salt and pepper
  • cornstarch

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Hearty, simple meat dish

Sear the beef goulash in hot sunflower oil until dark brown on all sides. Meanwhile, dice the shallots and finely chop the garlic. Reduce the heat slightly and sauté the shallots and garlic. Add the mustard, tomato paste, and paprika and fry briefly. Deglaze with red wine. Add the beer and stock and simmer, covered, for 1.5 hours over low heat. Season with salt and pepper, and thicken with starch if necessary.
