Giant puffball goulash

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 giant puffball
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 4 small carrots
  • 1 small zucchini
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • n. B. water
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • Paprika powder, hot
  • salt and pepper
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Clean the puffball, cut into slices, and then dice them. Cut the carrots into sticks and the peppers and zucchini into cubes. Chop the onion and garlic. Sauté the onions and garlic in olive oil. Add the carrots and fry. Then add the zucchini and peppers and fry. Finally, add the puffball cubes, fry, and season. Stir in the tomato paste and add about 50-100 ml of water. Let it simmer for a while longer and season to taste. We had Leberkäse with it, but it’s also delicious on its own. This dish was inspired by a forum contributor. Jack and I adapted it accordingly.
