with what is there

In a drinking glass, add a pinch of salt, some freshly ground black pepper, a dash of lemon juice, a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 part gin, and stir to dissolve the salt. Shake a small bottle of steak sauce (or another spicy ketchup) vigorously and add a walnut-sized dollop of it to the glass, along with 2 parts passata and stir well again. Top with 1-2 parts lemonade and stir gently, taking care not to spill. For a more pleasing appearance, grind a little more black pepper over the top and stick a sprig of curly parsley of the appropriate length into the glass. Quarter the carrot lengthwise and add one of the sprigs to help stir. You can easily omit the usual ice cubes if you have the main ingredients in the fridge beforehand. This cocktail is also a good choice as a Halloween liquid breakfast. However, it might be better to omit the gin (a ‘Virgin Mary’) and replace it with mineral water.
