Ginger Hearts
The perfect ginger hearts recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 375 g Sugar
- 1,5 heaped tsp Ground ginger
- 0,5 tsp Salt
- 200 ml Hot water
- 1,5 Pck. Vanilla sugar
- 0,5 Lemon – zest of the peel
- 565 g Flour
- 0,75 Pck. Baking powder
- Put the sugar, ginger and salt in a mixing bowl. Pour the hot water over it and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Then stir in the vanilla sugar and lemon zest zest.
- Mix flour and baking powder and sieve over. Knead everything well with the dough hook of the hand mixer. If necessary, rework with your hands until you have a smooth, easily malleable dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rest in the refrigerator until the next day.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- Roll out the dough about 3 mm thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut out hearts, place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake for 10 minutes until light yellow
