Vegan Berliner Bread

The perfect vegan berliner bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 gr Flour
  • 500 gr Farin sugar
  • 3 tbsp Unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tsp Clove pepper
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 200 gr Whole almonds
  • 200 gr Hazelnut kernels
  • 250 ml Almond milk
  1. Mix all dry ingredients. Add almond milk. Use only enough milk (at least 250 ml) until the batter is even. Spread evenly on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake at 200 degrees – above and below heat – for about 25 – 30 minutes depending on the oven. Immediately cut into strips and leave to cool. The Berlin bread is soft.
  2. Important !!!!! Please do not use Kandisfarin. Only the dark, slightly damp ones from the pharmacy, health food store, well-stocked smaller grocery store or bakery. Costs about € 50 per 500 gr.
