With a strictly gluten-free diet, you should therefore always pay attention to the information on the ingredients or the gluten-free logo. If in doubt, you should also inquire in restaurants, bakeries, and butchers exactly which goods are gluten-free.

There are numerous products that do not naturally contain gluten and can also be consumed without hesitation on a gluten-free diet. In addition, there are now many gluten-free substitute products.

  • In addition to cereals containing gluten, there are also gluten-free cereals. This includes corn, oats, rice, millet, buckwheat, quinoa, and amaranth and all products made from them such as flour, flakes, or semolina. Guar gum, locust bean gum, coconut flour, and chestnut flour can also be used without hesitation.
  • Kernels, nuts, and seeds as well as vegetables and fruit do not contain gluten themselves. They and the products made from them can be eaten without hesitation without any other gluten-containing ingredients.
  • Furthermore, natural fish and meat, all dairy products without additives, and eggs do not contain gluten. Oils, legumes, sugar, salt, and pure spices are also gluten-free.
  • In addition to naturally gluten-free foods, there are numerous gluten-free substitutes. This includes bread, biscuits, pasta, and muesli, but also ready-made products such as pizza, tarte flambée, breaded meat, and fish products. Certain companies have specialized in the production of gluten-free alternatives.
