Gooseberry Pudding Cake

The perfect gooseberry pudding cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the dough:

  • 250 g Flour
  • 1 packet Dry yeast
  • 25 g Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 50 g Butter
  • 100 ml Warm milk

For covering:

  • 1 Glass Gooseberries
  • 2 packet Vanilla custard powder
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 700 ml Milk

For painting:

  • 2 cups Sour cream
  • 4 tbsp Sugar

For the dough:

  1. Sift the flour into a bowl.
  2. Add the dry yeast and mix.
  3. Add sugar, salt, egg, butter and milk and knead everything well.
  4. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes until the dough has visibly enlarged.
  5. Roll out the dough in a springform pan.

For covering:

  1. Drain the gooseberries well and spread them on the dough.
  2. Make a pudding out of pudding powder, sugar and milk.
  3. Pour the pudding over the gooseberries and smooth out.
  4. Bake at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.

For painting:

  1. Put the sour cream and sugar in a bowl and stir.
  2. Spread the sour cream on the cake.
