Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 tbsp oil for frying
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ tsp paprika powder, hot
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 250 g beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch of cumin powder
  • 1 liter beef broth
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 cl port wine
  • 4 tsp crème fraîche

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Dice the onion and beef. Mash the garlic cloves. Peel and dice the potatoes. Deseed and dice the bell pepper. Peel, deseed, and dice the tomatoes. Heat the oil, sauté the onion until golden brown, add the beef, and sear. Add the garlic, paprika, caraway seeds, and salt; stir well. Deglaze with half of the stock and simmer over low heat. When the meat is cooked, add the potatoes and the remaining stock, bring to a boil, and simmer for another 15 minutes. Then add the bell peppers and tomatoes and simmer on low heat for another 15 minutes. Season with port wine and salt, drizzle with crème fraîche on each plate, and serve hot.
