Grandma's asparagus vegetables

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ½ kg asparagus
  • 2 cups of cream
  • 250 g bacon, diced
  • salt and pepper
  • 150 g Parmesan, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Melt the butter in a saucepan, then sprinkle with flour and stir vigorously (for a roux). Add the cream and the finely chopped garlic. Brown the bacon in a pan and add it to the pan. Now add the peeled and chopped asparagus and season gently with salt and pepper. It’s best to add more seasoning frequently to preserve the asparagus’ natural flavor. Bring the mixture to a boil briefly, then reduce the heat to low. Finally, add the Parmesan cheese and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.
