Grandma's best and quickest apple pie

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 180 g sugar
  • 100 g almonds, ground
  • 110 g flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 pinch of baking powder
  • 4 large apples, sour
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Separate the eggs and beat the egg yolks with the sugar and baking powder until frothy. Then stir in the flour. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Then add the almonds to the beaten egg whites. Mix the batter and beaten egg whites. Peel and slice the apples, then stir them into the finished batter. Pour the batter into a 26 cm springform pan and bake in a preheated oven at 160 °C (top/bottom heat) for about 60 minutes. Allow the cake to cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving. Alternatively, any juicy fruit can be used instead of apples, such as plums or currants. This cake has been part of the family recipe collection for over 100 years and is a hit every time.
