Instructions
Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
For the dough, beat the fat until fluffy and gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, egg and salt. Stir in half of the sifted flour mixed with the baking powder, a tablespoon at a time. Pour the rest of the flour onto the dough and work it in with your hands or with two forks until a crumbly mixture forms. For the filling, peel and slice the apples. Sauté harder apple slices with a little water, vanilla sugar and sugar until half cooked and chill. Mix the peeled apples with the vanilla sugar and season with sugar to taste. Pour half of the dough into a greased springform pan (26 cm). Press the dough down firmly on the bottom and up slightly at the edges. Sprinkle it with breadcrumbs and place the apples on top, leaving a border of about 1 cm. Sprinkle the rest of the crumble evenly over the filling and press it down lightly on the edges. Bake at 175-195 degrees in a preheated oven for approx. 45-55 minutes.
