Grandma's old recipe for walnut tea biscuits from North Friesland with the Thermomix

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g walnuts
  • 250 g butter, soft
  • 100 g sugar
  • 300 g wheat flour
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 32 minutes

I used my Thermomix for this recipe. First, grind the sugar on speed 10 for 20 seconds so I get my powdered sugar and don’t need to buy it. Take out the powdered sugar and set it aside. Then grind the walnuts on speed 10 for 15 seconds. Then add all the ingredients to the Thermomix and knead everything gently on speed 2, against the direction of the blade. Place the dough on a floured surface and roll out to a thickness of about 1 cm. Cut the sheet into rectangles with a knife or cut out with a round shape. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (fan). Place the cut dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes; they should be light brown. If you like, you can press a motif (I used a spiral) into the cookies while they are still warm. If you like, you can roll the cookies out of a mixture of sugar and vanilla sugar once they have cooled.
