Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 300 g flour
- 150 g margarine
- 120 g sugar
- 1 small egg(s)
- 1 bag of vanilla sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 15 m.-sized apples, e.g. Elstar
- 1 egg yolk, whisked
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
Combine flour, margarine, sugar, egg, vanilla sugar, and baking powder in a bowl and knead into a dough. Roll out two-thirds of the dough and place it in a greased springform pan (28 cm diameter). Peel the apples, cut them into thin slices, and cover the dough thickly with them. Roll out the remaining third of the dough and place it on top of the apples, then brush with egg. Bake for approximately 50 minutes at 175°C. Bake for 15 minutes with bottom heat, then top and bottom heat for the remaining time. Check with a skewer before removing from the oven! Tip: It tastes much better if baked the day before.
