Green Beans in Olive Oil

The perfect green beans in olive oil recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Bobby beans
  • 100 ml. Olive oil
  • 1 Large onion
  • 1 Tl. Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 120 ml. Water
  1. Wash the beans and cut away the ends. Cut each bean in half once. Peel and dice the onion. Cut away the stalk from the tomatoes and dice the tomatoes.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan (don’t skimp on olive oil). Sauté the onion cubes until golden brown.
  3. Add the beans and fry them for approx. 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Add salt, sugar and pepper and deglaze with the water.
  4. Finally, the diced tomatoes are spread over the beans. Now it is not allowed to stir anymore (very important). Put the lid on the saucepan and let it simmer for about 30 minutes over the lowest heat.
  5. The dish is eaten lukewarm or cold. Mix briefly before serving.
