Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g beans, green, fresh
  • 1 bunch of savory
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Wash the beans and trim the ends. Briefly roast the savory, garlic, crushed peppercorns, and salt in oil. Add 2 liters of water, boil for 10 minutes, and strain. Bring this broth to a boil and simmer the beans in three batches, one after the other. Cool quickly in cold water and dry with a cloth. Wrap the beans in bacon. Heat the butter in an ovenproof dish and add the beans, bacon-side down. Cover and heat in a preheated oven at 180°C – 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 5 minutes, turning once. The beans make a lovely summer side dish to festive meals or a delicious main course with some potatoes.
