Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g green spelt, crushed
  • 25 g sunflower seeds
  • 50 g oat flakes
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 2 tsp vegetable stock powder, yeast-free
  • n. B. water
  • 1 shallot(s)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste, seasoned
  • some flour
  • n. B. Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Place the green spelt, sunflower seeds, and oats in a saucepan with the chopped garlic clove and vegetable stock. Add enough water to just cover. Bring to a boil, remove from the heat, and let it swell for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, chop the shallot and add it to the green spelt along with the spices and tomato paste. The mixture should be very sticky after mixing. Add about 1-2 tablespoons of flour to firm up the mixture a bit and let it stand for about 20 minutes. Heat a little oil in a pan. Shape each ball, about 1 tablespoon at a time, into balls and place them in the pan. Flatten with a spatula and fry for about 10 minutes on each side.
