Grilling Kohlrabi: Here’s How

Spread the love

Kohlrabi can not only be prepared raw as a salad but also grilled. With other types of vegetables and grilled cheese, kohlrabi cuts a fine figure at every barbecue. Depending on your taste, you can also season it differently.

Grilling kohlrabi: instructions

You can enjoy grilled kohlrabi on its own or try it in combination with other grill classics.

  1. Peel the kohlrabi. Cut it into cubes or slices. These should be about one to two centimeters thick to remain al dente on the grill.
  2. Put the vegetables in an aluminum bowl or spread them out on the aluminum foil.
  3. Season the slices with salt, pepper, and a little oil. If you like, add some of your favorite spices like chili or oregano.
  4. Place the aluminum tray or the aluminum packet on the grill grate. Grill the vegetables for 15 minutes.

Grilled turnip greens vary

Grilled kohlrabi itself tastes very spicy. It can be refined with other ingredients.

  1. For example, add diced cottage cheese or feta cheese to the kohlrabi.
  2. Dice or slice a carrot and peppers. Add these to the kohlrabi as well. Grill everything together.
  3. Place the grilled vegetables on a bun along with a slice of tomato, cheese, or lettuce leaves. This is a simple way to make a flavorful veggie burger.
  4. A yogurt sauce can be used as a dip for grilled vegetables. To do this, mix some yogurt with salt, pepper, lemon juice, and finely chopped herbs such as parsley and dill.
