Guglhupf – Spicy for Christmas
The perfect guglhupf – spicy for christmas recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 200 g Flour
- 120 g Sugar
- 150 g Butter
- 4 pcs Eggs
- 0,5 tsp Ground cloves
- 0,5 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1 Vials Taste of rum
- 1 packet Orange zest
- 1 Knife point Salt
- 1,5 tsp Baking powder
- 150 gr Bolletjes Kruidernoten chocolate
- Breadcrumbs
- Put the eggs with the sugar in a bowl & use a mixer or mixer to beat / stir until frothy. Meanwhile, weigh the flour and mix with the baking powder, don’t forget the salt. Prepare the rum, orange zest, cinnamon and cloves.
- Melt the butter, grease the baking pan with a little butter. Sprinkle the pan with the breadcrumbs. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
- When the eggs are white, you can add rum, orange zest, cinnamon, salt and cloves. Then add the butter, which has cooled down a little, and the flour. Mix the dough until you have a smooth mass. Finally stir in the Bolletjes as a little surprise.
- After a baking time of 35-40 minutes and the famous stick test, the cake can be taken out of the oven. Wait 10 minutes and then rush to a roster. The cake will then come off the mold almost by itself.
- The cake can be dusted with powdered sugar as you like or covered with chocolate icing, as I did with me.
- p.s. Bolletjes Kruidennoten are small gingerbread cakes (in this case with chocolate coating, pure, milk and white chocolate) the chocolate coating does not melt away when baking and brings a small, fine crack when eating.
