Gyros – Homemade, with French Fries and Ztsatziki
The perfect gyros – homemade, with french fries and ztsatziki recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 600 gr Neck roast or neck schnitzel
- 1 tsp Dried oregano
- 1 tsp Dried basil
- 1 tbsp Food starch
- 5 piece Garlic cloves pressed
- 1 piece Onion – cut into cubes –
- 0,5 tsp Black pepper from the mill
- 0,5 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 0,5 tsp Sweet paprika powder
- 0,5 tsp Hot pink paprika powder
- 1 tsp Juice of one lemon
- 1 Msp Ground cinnamon
- Salt
- 100 ml Extra virgin olive oil
- Cut the meat into approx. 5 mm thin strips and mix well with all the ingredients, put in a freezer bag and let it steep overnight if possible. Then heat a pan, add the meat completely and cook gently for about 10 minutes. Mix well every now and then.
- In between then prepare the tsatziki (homemade of course) and the fries. Serve everything together with a delicious salad. We like it better than anyone, well … you know
