Gyros – Homemade, with French Fries and Ztsatziki

The perfect gyros – homemade, with french fries and ztsatziki recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 gr Neck roast or neck schnitzel
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried basil
  • 1 tbsp Food starch
  • 5 piece Garlic cloves pressed
  • 1 piece Onion – cut into cubes –
  • 0,5 tsp Black pepper from the mill
  • 0,5 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 0,5 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 0,5 tsp Hot pink paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Juice of one lemon
  • 1 Msp Ground cinnamon
  • Salt
  • 100 ml Extra virgin olive oil
  1. Cut the meat into approx. 5 mm thin strips and mix well with all the ingredients, put in a freezer bag and let it steep overnight if possible. Then heat a pan, add the meat completely and cook gently for about 10 minutes. Mix well every now and then.
  2. In between then prepare the tsatziki (homemade of course) and the fries. Serve everything together with a delicious salad. We like it better than anyone, well … you know
