Gyros-style Chicken
The perfect gyros-style chicken recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the yogurt sauce:
- 300 g Natural yoghurt
- 1 piece Paprika, red,
- 3 piece Spring onions fresh
- 3 piece Cayenne pepper
- 3 piece Sea salt from the mill
For the gyros:
- 500 g Chopped chicken
- 2 piece Onions
- 1 piece Garlic cloves pressed
- 2 teaspoon Gyros spice
- 2 teaspoon Sea salt from the mill
Loaf:
- 1 piece Wheat flatbread
Yogurt sauce
- Cut into the spring onions lengthways and wash them well. Then cut into small rings and place in a bowl with the yogurt. Now cut the peppers into one cm cubes and add them to the yogurt. Season all of this with salt and pepper and place in the refrigerator.
To bake bread:
- Preheat the oven to approx. 100 ° C and bake the bread.
The gyros
- Peel the onions and cut into fine rings and fry the chicken in a little oil. Add the onions and garlic and let them brown a little. Now add the gyros spice to the pan and season with salt.
The bread bag
- Take the bread out of the oven, quarter it, cut a pocket into it and first fill in some yoghurt, then the meat and onion mixture and on top again some yoghurt sauce.
