Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg pasta (spaghetti)
  • 900 g sauce (pasta sauce), homemade or ready-made product
  • 1 kg minced meat
  • 1 ½ cups breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup, 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp basil, fresh or
  • 1 tsp basil, dried
  • 200 g olives, with pepper filling
  • 1 tbsp oil (olive oil)

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Preheat oven to 180°C. Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, eggs, and basil. Form this mixture into approximately 30 small meatballs. Press an olive (pepper facing out) into each ball. Place the finished “eyeballs” in a baking dish and pour over the pasta sauce. Bake for 45 minutes. Cook the spaghetti in salted water, rinse, and toss with olive oil to prevent sticking. Arrange the spaghetti in portions on plates, garnish with the “eyeballs” and pasta sauce. Variation: Instead of regular spaghetti, simply serve black pasta. If you like, you can also sprinkle some cheese over the top. However, the “eyeballs” should be left out for a more striking effect.
