Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 170 g lean ham, diced
  • 500 ml malt beer or dark beer
  • 3 onions
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Finely dice the onions and fry until dark brown. Alternatively, you can also use ready-made fried onions. Use about 4 tablespoons of this. Combine the flour and baking powder, then add the ham, onions, and malt beer. Mix everything well so there are no flour pockets. Instead of malt beer, you can also use dark or dark beer. Pour the batter into a well-greased dish, such as a loaf pan, and bake for 30 minutes at 200°C (top/bottom heat). Brush with water and bake for another 15 minutes.
