Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 30 g yeast
  • 250 ml milk
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 g lard
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Fat for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Put the flour into a bowl and make a well in it. Crumble in the yeast and a little sugar and mix with some of the lukewarm milk. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes. Add the remaining milk, a pinch of salt, sugar, lard, eggs, and lemon zest. Knead vigorously until the dough easily pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Cover and let rise for another 10 minutes. Roll out and cut into strips. Place the dough on a floured board. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes. Cut the sausages into 1-2 cm long pieces. Heat the frying oil and carefully place the pieces in the pan. Fry until light brown and drain on kitchen paper. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.
