Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 8 slices of breakfast bacon
- 1 jar bell pepper(s), grilled
- 600 g minced meat of your choice, e.g. mixed
- 2 eggs
- 1 onion(s), diced
- 2 tbsp, heaped breadcrumbs or optionally 2 slices of toast
- e.g. salt and pepper
- e.g. paprika powder
- n. B. spice mix (meat seasoning)

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Minced meat cakes in a paprika and bacon coating
If using toast, soak two slices in water. Place the diced onion in a bowl with the eggs and seasonings. Add the minced meat, torn toast or breadcrumbs, and mix well. Set the bowl aside. Empty the grilled peppers from the jar into a sieve and let them dry thoroughly. Cut the peppers into patty-sized slices. Heat a pan and add oil. Form the minced meat into patties, place a slice of pepper on each one, and wrap them in bacon. Fry thoroughly in the hot pan. If the bacon crisps up too quickly, reduce the heat. Tip: If you’re making several patties, I always recommend preheating the oven to 90°C and placing the finished patties on a plate in the oven.
