Hasenwald bread soup

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • Water
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 2 carrots
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 tbsp coffee cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Finely chop the onion and garlic, dice the peeled carrots, and sauté briefly in a pan. Stir in about a liter of vegetable broth. Then pour the coffee milk into the hot pan and mix well with the vegetables, then pour everything into the hot vegetable broth. Fry the bread in the pan until crispy and add it to the vegetable broth. Serve immediately, as it absorbs liquid quickly. This is a very inexpensive dish that’s really filling. The bread doesn’t have to be fresh; you can use stale bread or other baked goods.
