Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • 250 g brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp clove(s), ground
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 250 g flour
  • 250 g hazelnuts, whole
  • 6 tbsp milk
  • Oil for the tray

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Christmas cookies

Place the butter and sugar in a bowl. Beat vigorously until the mixture is light and fluffy. One at a time, add the eggs, cinnamon, cloves, cocoa powder, and the flour mixed with the baking powder. Lightly oil a baking sheet, roll out the dough, and gently press the edges. Sprinkle the nuts over the dough and, using your fingers, gently make small indentations in the dough at even intervals. Brush with milk. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for approximately 20-25 minutes. Once cooled, cut into small rectangles and store in tins.
