Our skin can only remain healthy if it is adequately supplied with minerals. The three important minerals are silicon, zinc, and sulfur. These minerals are the basis for functional, active, and young skin.

In addition to high water content, cucumbers also contain silicon. Silicon is a trace mineral important for building connective tissue and supporting skin health. A lack of silicon consequently leads to reduced skin elasticity, which promotes accelerated wrinkling and accelerates the formation of age spots.

An excess of free radicals is caused by an unhealthy diet and lifestyle (food additives from ready meals, smoking, alcohol, sunburn, etc.). Vitamin C, vitamin E, and coenzyme Q10 are the best-known antioxidants, which are responsible, among other things, for radiant skin.

In addition to numerous amino acids, zinc, and selenium, organic free-range eggs also contain many antioxidant vitamins (vitamin A, vitamin E, and vitamins of the B complex). For example, biotin is a B-complex vitamin that supports skin health. Selenium is also an antioxidant mineral that promotes tissue suppleness and protects the skin from sunburn, for example.

The Indian spice turmeric can also be incredibly beneficial for the skin and body. Turmeric contains many antioxidant ingredients, also known as curcuminoids. Experts have suggested that these curcuminoids have 5 to 8 times more effective antioxidant properties than vitamin E and other more well-known antioxidants.
