Hearty Filled Cake

The perfect hearty filled cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • Dough:
  • 500 gr Flour
  • 0,5 dice Yeast
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 60 ml Lukewarm milk
  • 60 ml Cooking oil
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Natural yoghurt
  • Filling:
  • 200 gr Sucuk garlic sausage
  • 2 a cup Sour cream
  • 100 gr Spring onions fresh
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 size Onion red
  • 1 pack Mozzarella
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter
  1. Heat the milk, add the oil, salt and sugar and dissolve the yeast in it.
  2. Now fold in the egg and yogurt. Now gradually work in the flour until you get a smooth, not too dry dough. It may be that you need more flour, so it is best to have 1 kg of flour ready. If the dough is too dry, just add some water.
  3. When the dough comes off the surface and hands, let it rest in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  4. In the meantime, you can prepare the filling: dice the sausage and fry it in a little butter, add sliced spring onions. Add two cups of sour cream and mix everything together well. You can add half a cup of water so that the sour cream dissolves better. Season with salt and pepper to your taste. Set aside and let cool.
  5. When the dough is ready, knead it well again on a floured work surface. Now it’s best to prepare the mold, smear it with a little butter and dust it with flour (so that the dough doesn’t stick to the mold later!) For this hearty cake I usually use a tart mold, but you can also use a whole Use normal round cakes springform pan.
  6. Roll out the dough into a round shape, preferably a little larger than the shape. The dough can overlap over the edge of the mold, you can turn it over a bit on the sides when the filling is in, it always looks nice :)) Don’t leave it too thick but roll it out nice and thin.
  7. If you have too much dough, please don’t throw it away. You can freeze the rest of the dough without any problems!
  8. Place the rolled out dough over the baking pan and press firmly on the inside. Now add the 3 whisked eggs to the prepared mixture and stir everything well again. Pour on the dough and distribute well.
  9. Peel the red onion and cut into fine rings and spread over the mass. Now fold in the excess dough on the edge.
  10. Dice the mozarella and distribute it evenly on the cake. Bake at 190 degrees for about 30-35 minutes.
  11. Let cool and serve with a fresh salad … hearty cake :)))
