Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes, diced
  • 500 g apples, quartered, peeled
  • 375 ml water
  • some salt
  • some sugar
  • some vinegar
  • 100 g bacon, fat, diced
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Bring the water to a boil. Add the potatoes, apples, salt, and sugar, bring back to a boil, and simmer over low heat until tender. Once boiling, mash everything with a potato masher. Season with salt, sugar, and vinegar. Heat the oil and fry the bacon, then remove the bacon from the pan. Brown the onions in it and sprinkle the bacon and onions over the finished dish. Serve with fried black pudding as a side dish.
