Home Cooking – Goulash with Mushrooms

The perfect home cooking – goulash with mushrooms recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 800 g Roast pork from the bow or goulash right away
  • 4 Freshly chopped vegetable onions
  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • 2 Diced carrots
  • 250 g Fresh mushrooms
  • 3 Bay leaves
  • 4 Allspice grains
  • 4 Juniper berries
  • Salt and pepper
  • Hot paprika powder
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard
  • 1 Pc. Lovage branch
  • Vegetable broth or red wine
  1. Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces, season with salt, pepper and paprika, peel and roughly cut the onions and garlic, clean the carrots and cut roughly.
  2. Now heat some fat in the pan and fry the meat and the remaining ingredients, do not put everything in a pan but only as much that everything evenly touches the bottom of the pan, when it is nice and brown, add a little vegetable stock or red wine so that the roasted aromas are added remove them from the bottom, put the contents of the pan in a saucepan, repeat until all the cubes are seared. Finally, add the cleaned mushrooms and roast them lightly
  3. Now the meat has to cook softly for 40-50 minutes. When the meat is soft, season it again, possibly with a little mustard. The goulash no longer has to be thickened by the onions and the sauce is thick enough for the carrots.
  4. There were homemade bread dumplings and fennel vegetables, both recipes can be found in my cookbook
