Homemade tomato sauce with chives

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1,000 g tomatoes
  • ½ bunch chives
  • 100 g tomato paste
  • 2 garlic cloves, squeezed
  • n. B. Oil
  • 500 ml vegetable broth, homemade
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • 1 tbsp sea salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Wash and dice the tomatoes, wash and finely chop the chives, and set both aside. Sauté the tomato paste and garlic in hot oil, then add the diced tomatoes. Cook for 30 minutes, until the tomatoes have broken down. Gradually add the vegetable stock. Then strain through a fine sieve or puree and return to the pot. Now add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, and cook over medium heat for another 5 minutes. Season to taste.
