Honey-glazed salmon

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 portions of fresh salmon fillet(s) with skin, e.g. cut into butterfly pieces
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • some lemon juice or lime juice
  • Pepper, black from the mill
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

golden brown from the oven

Wash the salmon slices and pat dry. For butterfly steaks, open them skin-side down and place them on a baking sheet or casserole dish. Drizzle with lemon juice. Spread the honey over the fish; this works best straight from a bottle (for squeezing out). Season with salt and pepper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for about 20 to 25 minutes. If the fish isn’t golden brown after 20 minutes, increase the temperature briefly. The honey should be caramelized and lightly browned. Serve with lemon or lime mayonnaise, a honey-mustard sauce, or a horseradish crème fraîche dip, ideally with homemade mashed potatoes and a fresh green salad. This dish is great for preparing ahead of time.
