Recipe from my great-grandmother – makes 3 trays
Place the eggs and sugar in a bowl and beat until frothy. Then add the honey, cinnamon, and ground cloves. After stirring briefly, mix in the flour and baking powder. Immediately form small balls and place them, not too densely (6×7 pieces per tray), on a well-greased baking sheet. Using a thimble, carefully make a hollow in the center of the cookies and fill with sour jam. Then bake for about 13-15 minutes at 150°C (300°F). As soon as the cookies collapse after rising, remove the baking sheets and immediately remove the cookies from the tray. To make sure they’re done, check the oven frequently. Now just let them cool and enjoy.
