Horseradish Sauce

The perfect horseradish sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 ml Beef broth – ideally the boiled beef brew
  • 400 ml Cream
  • Salt, pepper, nutmeg
  • Cold mixed starch water
  • 0,5 tsp Mustard medium hot
  • Grated horseradish – Austrian horseradish – from the glass to taste
  1. Reduce the beef broth by a third, then add the cream. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Tie something off with the starch. Remove from the heat and mix in the mustard thoroughly. Stir in a little bit of cold butter. Now add enough horseradish until the desired taste (spiciness) is achieved.
  2. Tastes good with all cooked beef dishes – traditionally in Austria with boiled beef with roasted potatoes.
