Before freezing, herbs should be washed and dried thoroughly. Drying for a long time is not recommended; it is better to shake off the water well and lay them out to dry on a towel for about 2-3 hours.

There are 3 ways to freeze greens:

  1. You can freeze greens in bunches. You just need to take a bunch of freshly washed and dry herbs and place them in a resealable bag or in a freezer container. The frozen sprigs separate well, so you can take several sprigs of herbs from a bunch in winter, or you can freeze small bunches of herbs and use them as a whole.
  2. You can also freeze herbs in ice cubes. For this method of freezing, you just need to wash the herbs well, chop them, put a few pinches in an ice cube tray, and fill it with water. There is no need to dry the herbs. When the cubes are frozen, you need to shake them out of the mold and place them in a bag or container for further storage. In winter, it is very convenient to take a cube of greens and add it to a dish.
  3. You can freeze chopped herbs. To do this, wash, dry, and chop the greens finely, put them in small bags, wrap them in a “sausage” and freeze them. In winter, you will need to take the “sausage” out of the freezer and cut off as much as you need.
