How to Overcome Nighttime Appetite: Nutritionist Reveals the Secret

Nighttime appetite occurs due to the misalignment of sleep and eating rhythms. The expert explained what to do to normalize your biological clock.

It’s about midnight, and your hand is reaching for a sandwich or chocolate bar – a situation that is familiar to everyone. Nutritionist and nutritionist Ekaterina Romanova told us how to overcome nighttime appetite and avoid gaining extra pounds due to frequent evening and nighttime trips to the refrigerator.

The expert explained on Instagram that nighttime appetite occurs due to the out-of-sync rhythms of sleep and eating. Romanova explained what to do to normalize your biological clock and get rid of night eating.

First of all, she said, you need to start having breakfast and lunch. The main daily meal should be from 12.00 to 15.00. Dinner is best with proteins and fiber, and the meal time should be before 19.00.

PROTEINS: eggs, codfish, pike perch, flounder, pink salmon, tuna, chum salmon, lean meat (boiled, baked, steamed).

FIBER: salads, berries, vegetables. It is better to eat vegetables in the form of salads (without heat treatment).

If you want to eat after dinner, the nutritionist advised eating baked apples and drinking herbal teas.

“Baked green apples contain pectin, which is food for beneficial bacteria. Also, apples are rich in fiber, which fills the stomach best and allows the body to stay full for as long as possible,” Romanova wrote.

Another important tip: go to bed before 23.00, and sleep should last at least 8 hours.

“After 2 weeks of this regimen, you will forget about nightly trips to the refrigerator,” the nutritionist summarized.
