How to Quickly and Easily Make a Mexican Tortilla at Home

It’s no secret that white bread is one of the most harmful foods for the figure. Its consumption inhibits the process of fat breakdown, but it contains virtually no fiber, amino acids, and other nutrients.

But you can always find a useful substitute. For example, nutritionist, nutritionist, well-known wellness coach, author of books for women, and the Spinach and Yoga blog, Nadezhda Andreeva, has prepared a recipe for a Mexican tortilla that you will immediately fall in love with.

Mexican tortilla: how to make a tortilla at home

According to the nutritionist, one of the main advantages of this tortilla is that it goes well with almost all foods. You can eat it with vegetables, meat, various spreads, and salads. In short, there’s plenty of room for experimentation in the kitchen. The main thing is to master the recipe and adapt it to your food preferences.


  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour;
  • 1/2 cup of oat flour;
  • 1 teaspoon of salt;
  • 3/4 cup of hot water;
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil;
  • a pinch of ground black pepper;
  • a pinch of ground nutmeg.

Method of preparation:

  • Mix all the ingredients – the consistency of the dough should be like pancake dough. Set aside for 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Heat a small non-stick frying pan. Add a few drops of oil.
  • Add 1/2 cup of the batter and fry until bubbles appear on the bottom of the tortilla and it is browned.
  • Turn over and fry the other side
