Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 200 g mushrooms or 1 medium can
  • mushrooms of your choice
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 200 g smoked bacon, streaky, diced
  • 2 cups of cream
  • salt and pepper

Clean and slice the mushrooms. Peel the onions and dice them very finely. Fry the bacon and diced onions in a pan until golden brown. Add the mushroom slices and simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Add the cream and continue to simmer until the sauce reaches the desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper. The mushrooms can be substituted or supplemented with other mushrooms, such as chanterelles, porcini mushrooms, or chanterelle mushrooms. The sauce goes well with many meat dishes such as schnitzel, meatballs, meatloaf, etc.
