Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 2 bags of vegetables (Kaisergemüse)
  • 200 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • 200 g ham, cooked, chopped
  • 40 g margarine
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • ¾ liter chicken broth
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of cayenne pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Dissolve the margarine in a saucepan and sauté the flour in it. Gradually add the broth and season. Add the heavy cream and simmer for about 10 minutes. Grease a large casserole dish and pour in the thawed vegetables. Arrange the cooked ham and parsley on top. Pour the light sauce over the dish and sprinkle with grated cheese. Add a few knobs of butter and place in the oven. Bake at 170°C (350°F) for 25 minutes.
