Indian Tomato Sauce
The perfect indian tomato sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 50 g Salted butter
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 5 Cloves
- 4 Pieces Cadermon
- 2 small, green Chillies
- 2 Toes Garlic
- 2 cm Ginger
- 4 Vine tomatoes
- 3 tablespoon Tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 2 tablespoon Honey
- Press the ginger and garlic, cut the chilli into small pieces. Carefully press the Kadermon with the side of a knife so that the shell bursts open. Roughly dice the tomatoes.
- Melt the butter in a pan and add the cadermon, cloves and cinnamon stick and sauté briefly. Then add the ginger, garlic and chilli and sauté briefly.
- Then add the diced tomatoes and the tomato paste and let simmer for about 10 minutes with the lid closed and low to medium heat. (If necessary, a dash of water can now also be added).
- Finally, remove the cinnamon stick, kadermom and cloves from the dish and season with salt, garam masala, turmeric and honey. Tip: If you like it creamy, you can add 2 tablespoons of cream to refine it. Good Appetite!
