Fasting is a religious custom on the one hand and a trend on the other. In this article, we will explain whether fasting is healthy or not.
Fasting – rest for the body
Fasting gives your body a break from hard work.
- Fasting is not for weight loss. Fasting is done either for religious reasons or for health reasons.
- High fat and the wrong diet quickly lead to the typical widespread diseases: obesity, cardiovascular diseases, or gastrointestinal diseases.
- In addition, industrially produced food from the supermarket often contains preservatives, colorings, and artificial flavorings. This is not healthy – the body cannot process these substances for the most part.
- Therefore, fasting is a boon for the body. The renunciation of food purifies and flushes the toxins out of the body. People who suffer from an autoimmune disease in particular benefit from detoxification.
- The effect of a fasting cure depends on its duration. Boost your digestion with two days of fasting. If you want to completely purify and cleanse your body, start a more intensive and longer fasting cure.
Before fasting to the doctor
Fasting includes a health check.
- Beginners in particular should not start fasting at random. Consult a doctor beforehand who will conduct a health check. This will tell you if fasting is right for you.
- Don’t fast for too long. The cure should not last more than two weeks. However, you should already have a lot of experience and have a stable mental and physical constitution.
