Bake plum cake: recipe
You probably already have what you need for a plum cake at home. The quantities are sufficient for two round sheets. If one cake is enough for your afternoon coffee, halve the quantities:
- 500 grams of flour,
- 250 ml milk,
- 80 grams of butter,
- 120 grams of sugar,
- an egg,
- a cube of yeast.
- a kilogram of plums,
- optional cinnamon and sugar for sprinkling,
Bake plum cake: instructions
- First, heat the milk, but don’t let it boil.
- Melt the butter in the warm milk and dissolve the sugar in it.
- Now add the egg and mix everything until fluffy.
- Now comes the yeast: crumble the cube and let it melt completely in the still warm liquid. Keep stirring.
- Once the yeast has dissolved, slowly add the flour, stirring constantly.
- Once the dough is nice and smooth, cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place for 20 to 30 minutes.
- During this time, wash the plums thoroughly, cut them in half, and remove the stone.
- When the dough has risen nicely, divide it and line the baking trays with it. Tip: pull the edge up a little and press it down a little. Plums are often quite juicy and the juice would otherwise run under the ground.
- Now distribute the halved fruit evenly on the tray. The plums should be laid densely, they can overlap a little.
- The plum cake can now bake in the preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes.
- When the cake has cooled, you can sprinkle some cinnamon-sugar mixture over it. This gives a particularly fine taste. Enjoy your meal!
