Soy yoghurt – alkaline or acidic?
- As the name suggests, soy yoghurt is made from soybeans. These, in turn, belong to the legumes. Legumes contain a relatively large amount of purines and thus lead to acid formation in the body.
- The acid puts a strain on the liver, among other things, and has to be excreted via uric acid. For this reason, legumes are not alkaline but acidic foods.
- In addition, the soy milk is acidified so that yoghurt can be made from it. For these reasons, soy yoghurt is not one of the basic foods, but only one of the acidic ones.
