Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 large cans of chickpeas (approx. 1800 g cooked)
  • 200 g sesame paste (Techina – Tahini)
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • 5 clove(s) garlic, squeezed
  • 2 tsp, heaped salt
  • 1 tsp, heaped pepper, black
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup of water (approx. 150 ml)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Jewish specialty from Israel

Combine all ingredients in a bowl in the correct order. Blend with a hand blender until a smooth, cement-like mixture forms. Serve with pitta (flatbread), various salads, and pickled cucumbers. This recipe is dedicated to all Israelis who sorely miss their hummus in Germany.
